Distilled Analytics

THE GOAL

The design for the UI/UX needed to present complex data effectively and facilitate in-depth analysis, all while being optimized for mobile devices.

- Clickable prototype showing multiple user flows / interaction

Approach

After gaining an understanding of the data analysis, we collaborated with the Distilled Analytics team to craft user roles, key processes, and tasks for the Distilled IMPACT application.

I worked closely with another designer to ideate, workshop, sketch, and present designs to the stakeholders and client team. We received feedback from Distilled clients, which led to the creation of an alternate dashboard, expanding our scope but not pushing the deadline.

I aimed to design precise and easy-to-digest data to facilitate quick and efficient analysis. The tool aims to show portfolio managers and investors how their investment is impacting the community or environment and what it has yielded over time. I used progressive disclosure to manage the information presented at a time, surfacing the critical information first. The drill-down views allow users to unfold more detail and gain more context on a particular metric.

Solution

In a very short timeline, I delivered high-resolution designs and a clickable prototype that illustrated Distilled IMPACT's key functionality and benefits.

The clickable served two key teams:
1. The product team was able to start their engineering effort based on the designs
2. The business development team shared it with prospective customers to support the sales process and obtain feedback

The success of this project led to the design and development of another Distilled Analytics project.
